YOUTH SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED A 5-DAY SESSION ON “TRANSPARENCY AND GOOD GOVERNANCE”

12747957_1058237607532048_6257981621639423869_oThe latest in a series of voluntary youth initiatives was organized under Transparency Azerbaijan’s USAID-funded Azerbaijan Partnership for Transparency (APT) Project. The energetic volunteers of“Y-PEER Azerbaijan” youth organization conducted the theater-based training session on “Transparency and good governance” on February 24-28, 2016.Young people studying at various universities of Azerbaijan were informed about diverse practices in mechanisms of transparency, accountability and integrity and performed sketches based on what they had learned in interactive sessions. On the first day of the session, the participants were familiarized with the notion of corruption and National Integrity System of Transparency Azerbaijan and were introduced to concepts of transparency, accountability and integrity on the basis of international practices. The second day of the training consisted of sessions on mechanisms of whistleblowers’ protection and budget transparency. On the third training day, the participants were equipped with skills in writing appeals and complaints to state bodies and were informed about the use of e-services and performance of hotlines. In the last two days of the training, the participants prepared social sketches and presented them to broader audience.Transparency Azerbaijan organizes a series of seminars and voluntary training sessions under the youth component of APT Project and invites youth to actively participate in these activities.
