Achievements and problems in registration of apartment houses

NovostroykaTransparency Azerbaijan, with the support of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), will organize a roundtable to discuss achievements and problems in registration of apartment houses and its recommendations on enhancing transparency in this area. The roundtable is the latest in a series within the Azerbaijan Partnership for Transparency Project designed to facilitate dialogue between the government institutions and NGOs with the aim of increasing transparency and accountability of government institutions and processes. The roundtable will be held at the International Press Center, Round Hall, Matbuat Ave. 529/23, from 11.00 to 13.00 on December 12, 2014.

Representatives from State Committee for City-building and Architecture, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Anti-Corruption Department under Prosecutor General, “Azerenergy” JSC and other state agencies as well as members of Azerbaijan’s civil society are planned to attend the roundtable, which will center on the ways to tackle problems frequently faced by citizens in connection with apartment houses’ registration. Specifically, increasing transparency and efficiency of the services, specifying rights and obligations of apartment houses’ owners and citizens, assessing the effectiveness of legislative changes to enhance state oversight of this area, etc. will be at the heart of these discussions.
