SEMINAR ON THE ROLE OF HOTLINES IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION WAS ORGANIZED

30 lTransparency Azerbaijan, with the support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), organized a seminar to discuss the Role of Hotlines in the Fight against Corruption. The seminar was the latest in a series within the Azerbaijan Partnership for Transparency Project designed to facilitate enlightenment among youth on increasing transparency and accountability of government institutions and processes.
The aim of the seminar was to provide the information to the youth about the role of hotlines and their efficiency, as well as how to apply to a hotline, when people encounter with the of corruption and the role of citizens in increasing transparency in Azerbaijan. Speaking at the event, Mr. Ramin Huseynov, chief prosecutor at the Office of Organizational Information Support of the Chief Anti-corruption Department under the Prosecutor General’s Office in the Republic of Azerbaijan delivered a presentation on the topic of hotlines as a tool of the government to improve the scope of fighting against corruption. Especially, the youth were informed about successes in implementation of this practice by the various agencies of the government of Azerbaijan and existing problems, as well as vital steps in improving these tools.
The second part of the seminar that youth and students from different universities attended was devoted to interactive brainstorming discussion among the students, and at the end the expert answered all the questions of the students. Students emphasized the importance of promotion of hotlines in the society by preparing social advertisements in the media. They praised the event and mentioned that such kind of events on this topic should be continued to educate the youth in this field in the future
