Transparency Azerbaijan statement on release of Leyla Yunus

leyla yunus 30Transparency Azerbaijan welcomes release of Leyla Yunus on probationary sentence and that of her husband Arif Yunus, released earlier. The Yunuses are in poor health condition and it is good news that they will be able to receive much better medical treatment out of prison conditions. Transparency Azerbaijan hopes that this welcome precedent will be a prelude to further positive decisions to enhance the space for civil society in Azerbaijan.
