THEATRE-BASED TRAINING ON “TRANSPARENCY AND GOOD GOVERNANCE” WAS ORGANIZED FOR YOUTH AND STUDENTS

DSC_0095“Transparency Azerbaijan” Anti-corruption Public Association, the local chapter of “Transparency International” with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) organized 5 day theatre-based training on Transparency and Good Governance in cooperation with the Y-PEER Azerbaijan and the US-Educated Azerbaijani Alumni Association. The training is the latest in a series within the Azerbaijan Partnership for Transparency project designed to facilitate enlightenment among youth on increasing transparency and accountability of government institutions and processes.

Speaking at the event, Mahammad Muradov, Elvin Yusifli, Ayten Alizamanli, representatives of Transparency Azerbaijan, as well as Ramil Zamanov, Sevinj Samadzade, Namiq Abdullayev, Elturan Kazimli and Saadat Abdullazade, members of Y-PEER Azerbaijan provided participants with different knowledge and skills on tender, tools to fight against corruption, whistle-blowing and theoretical and empirical knowledge on how to write applications to the state-agencies and public services.

Youth and students from different universities attended the training where they improved their theoretical knowledge by strengthening it with some practical tasks and simulations. Moreover, trainers of Y-PEER Azerbaijan provided the youth with skills about social theatre and coordinated for preparation of final social theatres on different topics at the end of the event.

The purpose of the training was to educate youth about theoretical and empirical knowledge on transparency and good governance and put existing problems on the aforementioned topics through social theatre.
